AURA carries out its role through its astronomical facilities.The Human Resources team has an opening for a full-time Senior Human Resources Generalist to support the National Science Foundation funded operations. The position is located in our offices in Tucson, Arizona on the University of Arizona campus.The Senior Human Resources Generalist supports employees and managers through the delivery of key strategies and activities relating to people management and counsels AURA leadership regarding workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, performances issues, employee development, talent assessment, employee relations and performance management. The Senior HR Generalist implements Human Resource initiatives providing an employee-oriented culture. Performs independently a variety of complex administrative duties requiring a comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources practices, laws, regulations and AURA policies. Is responsible for performing all aspects of the Human Resource function to include and is not limited to; recruiting and onboarding, compliance, employee relations, terminations, job description development, performance reviews and training, *Essential Functions:** Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and regulatory reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.* Analyzes and adheres to human resource policies and procedures using independent judgement and discretion to resolve issues and problems.* Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information.* Works in conjunction with Recruiting Manager to develop and implement recruitment strategies and processes to achieve staffing objectives.* Collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies for job openings. Provide support to the recruitment process as required.* Coaches and trains management on interviewing/selection, employee counseling/disciplinary action, performance management, engagement, employee development and a variety of human resources issues.* Ensures human resources information systems are up to date and accurate.* Coordinates the full employment life cycle for all HR-related activity including developing job descriptions, on-boarding, new hire orientation, performance management, retention strategies, and termination. Fosters a positive attitude toward company mission, vision, values and goals.* Maintains records of benefits plans participation such as insurances and retirement plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.* Assists the Compensation and Benefits Manager in the administration of salary and performance review programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.* In conjunction with Compensation and Benefits Manager, provides administration of benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, tuition assistance and employee assistance programs as needed. Ensures enrollments and terminations are processed timely.* Manages functions and administration of employee leaves of absence process and coordinates pay and benefits continuation with disability vendors and payroll staff. Maintains communication with employees and managers throughout the leave process.* Contributes to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Provides policy interpretation and general information pertaining to all areas of HR including benefits, payroll, and compensation.* Assist the HR Manager as needed with immigration programs and individual circumstances. Works to identify opportunities and support initiatives to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. Provides input and guidance to organizational design, structure and communication of changes.* Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention. Develops and supports employee engagement and recognition events. Provides HR guidance and advice to employees, line managers, and senior management, as required.* Identifies potential retention risks and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns.* Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conducts effective counseling and thorough and objective investigations. Maintains documentation and performs exit interviews.*Other Functions:** Performs other duties as assigned*Required Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:** Bachelor's degree (B.
