Kforce Senior Controls Engineers in Tucson, Arizona

Kforce's client, a growing Engineering Company in the Tucson, AZ area, is looking for a few Senior Controls Engineers. We are seeking candidates nationwide willing to relocate to the Tucson area once again the position is in Tucson, Arizona (AZ). We are working directly with the Hiring Manager.Summary:The position reports to the Engineering Manager. This position assumes a technical role towards the development of automated manufacturing systems for Automation. They will be responsible for the electrical engineering and software design of control systems on automation equipment specific to customer and project requirements.Specific Duties Include: * Designs and develops control systems and software programs specific to customer and project requirements based on standard programming methods when applicable * Performs engineering calculations with respect to power consumption, current capacity, shielding, signal integrity, risk assessment, etc., as related to automation machinery designs * Formulates and produces a complete electrical design package which includes detailed schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and material requisition forms, based on the company's Automation standard specifications and the customer's requirements * Selects and integrates hardware and software components such as robots, grippers, load cells, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers * Debugs and commissions software programs at the company during systems integration phase and then at the Customer's site during installation * Occasional travel as required to Customer and supplier sites to perform installation, commissioning, and training tasks * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience, specializing in controls systems design or software engineering * BSEE degree preferred * 5-10 years of experience writing software and/or electrical design for automation systems * Experience developing system electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical is a plus * Experience designing automation systems for industries such as Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace and/or consumer products industries is desired * Successful experience troubleshooting equipment during all project phases * Demonstrable success functioning as a controls design engineer on multiple automation projects * PLC ladder logic experience * Advanced understanding of robotics, control systems, vision systems and machine operation * Advanced understanding programming environments such as robotic controllers, vision systems, HMI design tools, etc. * C#, MS Visual Studio is a plus but not required * Applicants must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
