SMG Security Guard Front Desk in Tucson, Arizona

ASM Global Job Description Job Title: Security Guard-Front Desk Department: Security Reports To: Security Coordinator FLSA Status: Full time/Hourly Summary: ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Front Desk Security Guard at the Tucson Arena/Convention Center. This position will provide visitor check in and access control at the Administration Front Desk post. In addition to access control this position will provide customer service and administrative support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Utilize the security software system to complete daily reporting and visitor check in. * Locks and unlocks facility doors * Responds to emergency situations. * Works independently, judges and assesses situations for immediate response. * Assist contractors with check in and paperwork at the direction of the Facility Manager. * Answer all incoming calls and transfer to appropriate departments, take messages when necessary. * Receive, Sort, and route incoming mail. * Order, Receive and maintain office supplies for copy room. * Call and arrange admin equipment for maintenance with appropriate vendors. * Act as receptionist to administrative offices answering questions about events and activities on the convention center campus. * Provide administrative support such as copying, collating, and filing, other admin duties as assigned. * Assist with special projects as needed Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Education and Experience * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, some college is preferred * Minimum 2 years security experience, preferably in a similar environment * Customer service experience preferred Skills and Abilities * Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment. * Ability to communicate with, and take direction from immediate supervisor and facility management. * Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and interacts with all levels of staff, including management. * Effectively multi task to ensure all event related tasks are completed in a timely fashion with appropriate priority. * Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur. * Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills. * Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative. * Must possess professional presentation, appearance and work ethic. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some computer experience Microsoft software, and incident reporting software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations This position requires appropriate credentials as mandated by State, County or local law.
