Description
TAK Communications, Inc., a leading multi-state cable television installation firm, is seeking a full-timeQuality Control Technicianfor ourTucson, AZlocation. Experience is preferred but we will train someone who has the right background for this position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position includes quality control oversight of primarily our drop bury projects. Our contract tasks us with assisting in completing drop bury work for our client, which needs the quality to be held to the strictest of standards. This position has a variety of requirements and expectations. This position demands attention to detail and clear and concise reporting & communications in order for us to be successful.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Responsible for ensuring timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of work performed by installers.
Responsible for performing the inspection post install to ensure compliance to client specifications.
Check for proper restoration of area
Take photos and attach to the inspection report
White line excavations and collect locate data
Conduct and attend meetings as needed
Verify the system is complying with all safety requirements
Perform work in a safe manor, following all OSHA and company guidelines
Drive Company vehicles responsibly and safely
Keep assigned company vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized
Report any vehicle performance or maintenance concerns to Supervisor/Manager
Work hours as needed based on customer demand
Requirements
PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
Experience in the telecommunications industry preferred
Experience with underground locates and able to use a compass for directional instructions
Preferred experience in calling in Bluestakes
Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines required
Basic mechanical aptitude
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Learn quickly and apply that knowledge
Adaptability and being able to work individually and in a team environment
Willingness to travel
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR screen
Able to pass a pre-employment background screen and drug test
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions
Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night
Work performed near power lines and electricity
Work and travel in inclement weather
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment
Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
Carry, climb, operate and work upon an extension ladder, (approximately 28 ft high and 75 pounds)
Safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment
Differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
Make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting
Operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position
Perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs in addition to an extension ladder)
Use hand tools in the manner for which they were intended including electric drills, hammers, wrenches and screwdrivers
Safely walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment including ladders and fully loaded tool belts
Work while standing 50 to 70% of the time
Work with small components and wire to make cable connections
