Rain Bird Corporation Product Sales Manager – Golf Central Control in Tucson, Arizona
The Product Sales Manager is responsible for profitably growing golf central control product sales in golf industry applications through the promotion and education of Rain Bird golf central control technology to golf course owners, greens committees, consultants, architects, contractors, developers, superintendents and end-user customers.
He/she will work collaboratively with Rain Bird sales managers and golf distribution in assigned markets globally to promote and demonstrate product technology features and benefits within each geographic market.
He/she will identify opportunities to strengthen Rain Bird’s market position as the industry leader in central control technology, establish and build exceptional relationships with key influencers, educate and successfully sell customized irrigation systems and pump stations to new and existing golf courses.
The Product Sales Manager operates as a “solution-based” sales role with the flexibility to identify the highest opportunity customers and markets and drive sales in those markets with high energy efforts to promote central control technology benefits.
The sales manager is capable of analyzing irrigation system design and presenting product benefits to best meet the needs for each application.
The Product Sales Manager will work closely with Rain Bird employees and distributor service managers to ensure that after-sales technical support is correctly delivered, installed, and used by the customer.
The Product Sales Manager will work with Golf Marketing to create marketing plans and materials that properly explain customer benefits so that central control technology features are understood and differentiated from competitor’s offerings.
The Product Sales Manager will identify market trends and customer needs for Golf Marketing to guide future product innovations so that Rain Bird Golf products continue to lead golf industry water conservation and The Intelligent Use of WaterTM.
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or Management
10+ years successful sales experience with progressive sales management responsibilities
Proven technical competence with golf course irrigation product lines and track record of successful presentation of the features and benefits of central control products.
Experience working with independent golf distribution
Proven track record in negotiating large business deals
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to achieve results individually and through team management
Working knowledge of personal computers and commonly used business software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Willingness to travel internationally more than 50% of time to achieve sales objectives
Golf course irrigation design experience
Experience in training distributors and end customers
Fluency in foreign language(s)
International sales experience
