Community Health Systems Phlebotomist / Lab Assistant II - PT- Days in TUCSON, Arizona
This is an exciting part time (20 hrs. per week) phlebotomy position at Northwest Healthcare's beautiful new Transitions facility on the Northwest Medical Center campus. Make use of your skills while drawing blood, processing samples and managing draw lists. We want you to be part of our quality healthcare team.
Job Summary: Collects and labels patient samples at our on-campus Transitions rehab and skilled nursing facility. Performs order entry of tests as necessary, ensuring that specimens are routed to appropriate areas for testing. Processes specimens for reference laboratory testing. Draws blood from the patient according to laboratory policy and procedure, demonstrating good phlebotomy and customer service skills. Labels all specimens at the patient bedside. Demonstrates proficiency in ordering and/or receiving specimens, and rejecting inappropriately collected/labeled specimens. Consistently monitors stat/timed boards to ensure appropriate specimen collection and turn around times. Consistent demonstration of daily pending list management, including reconciliation of specimens and hand off to incoming staff. May be asked to assist at the main hospital depending on work load.

- Technical/other training or better in Phlebotomy
- Three years previous phlebotomy experience in a health care setting or certification as a phlebotomist through an accredited agency.
