Position Summary:


The Information Technology Advanced Analyst is the second level of a six level information technology professional series. Incumbents perform lead duties on a major enterprise platform or technology. The Information Technology Advanced Analyst is distinguished from the Information Technology Principal Analyst which is responsible for providing technical leadership and project management duties on multiple platforms or technologies.


Duties and Responsibilities:


+ May serve as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction


+ Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of complex business and systems problems; defines requirements for creative, logical, and effective solutions; confers with College management to determine feasibility of recommendations


+ Provides technical direction in information modeling concepts, data access, and reporting tools


+ Create, design, organize, and maintain technical documentation for both internal and external developer audiences. This includes: REST API and SDK documentation, developer guides, and code samples


+ Become familiar with the services being documented


+ Understand how to communicate concepts and services to a developer customer segment


+ Develop templates and processes to standardize documentation across multiple services


+ Provide feedback on API design and usability


+ Work with D2L developers to document software development processes


+ Meet product release deadlines


+ Manage updates and revisions to technical literature and education materials


+ Take action to resolve requests based on product and system knowledge as well as information found in internal and external resources


+ As needed, update support tickets to reflect actions taken, resolution achieved or further action required


+ Inform IT Supervisor of any technical issues, gaps, errors, missing information in the Knowledge Base and makes suggestions to improve and update processes and documentation


+ Receive telephone calls, chats and emails


Job Requirements:


+ Bachelor's Degree in related field and


+ Two years technical experience


or


+ Candid ates who possess similar minimum objective qualifications should describe in detail the education and work experience they regard as establishing the equivalency


The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:


+ Experience using and writing documentation for REST APIs and SDKs. D2L Brightspace LMS is desirable


+ Looking for 2-5 years of Technical Writing Experience


+ A broad understanding of programming languages and the ability to read and understand code samples in at least one language


+ Strong writing and editorial skills


+ The ability to understand complex technical concepts and clearly communicate them via documentation


+ The desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly


+ Comfortable working on multiple projects and acting in multiple roles as needed


+ Ability to take ownership of projects and define work with little direction
