Human Resources Manager
Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology (RISST) is seeking a Human Resources Manager, to be located at Caterpillar’s Mining Center in Tucson, AZ or Peoria, IL. This role serves as an HR business partner to senior commercial leaders with global organizations and will additionally leverage local HR teams and HR shared services support across these client groups. This role is responsible to ensure adherence to human resources policies and procedures while supporting HR process and program improvements. In addition, this role is an important member of the RISST HR leadership team and ensures alignment and coherence with strategic business and people strategies.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provides direction and guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistency.
Manages tracking of headcount, promotions, International Service Employees, and other general people matters.
Divisional responsibility for a variety of HR initiatives: compensation administration, performance management calibration, etc.
Actively participate as a functional manager on the team, ensuring HR is an integral part of the business strategy.
Plays an integral part in the Employee Insights Survey (EIS) results through integrating cultural values in the day-to-day business activities.
Provides direction to Management in interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as international laws if applicable, governmental regulations, and internal reviews to enhance consistency and maintain and improve the work environment.
Provides directives considering impact upon the company (financial), employee engagement, and consideration for the future (new practices, policies, and procedures).
Supporting and maintaining regional point of contacts for competitive businesses for local wage and benefit surveys to be conducted. In Non-U.S. locations, this position may be responsible for surveys and benchmarking data for merit, short term incentive plan (STIP) and evaluation of the results and recommendation of compensation strategy to Corporate Compensation.
Researching, benchmarking, creating strategic initiatives, and designing implementation strategy to improve business unit results.
Formulation and/or implementation of policies, practices and procedures related to employment practices, appropriate training, benefits, and safety.
Coordinating programs for management recruiting, selection, reward and recognition.
Assisting managers in addressing individual and organizational effectiveness matters .
Managing a work unit of primarily management/professional employees where review of subordinate work is required as well as training, developing and mentoring.
Travel required is limited to moderate, less than 20% of working time.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or related field of study.
8 years of progressively responsible human resources experience, with experience related to Employee Relations, Employee Benefits, Compensation, Employment Practices, Employee Development, Training, and a working knowledge of Operations.

Advanced degree (MA or MBA) in Human Resources
Professional Human Resources Certification
Prior Supervisory Experience
Ability to resolve HR related issues with traditional and non-traditional approaches
Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate a highly matrixed organization
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills are required to manage sensitive issues, develop others, or influence others inside and outside the department to take specific actions
