Remedial Construction Services, L.P. (RECON) Heavy Equipment Operator in Tucson, Arizona

Position Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate heavy power construction equipment onsite for environmental and earthwork construction projects. Equipment may include lude trucks, front-end/track loaders, backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, scrapers, and skid steers. Will move and stabilize earth and materials in a safe and efficient manner. Project located in Bisbee, AZ.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Operate heavy construction equipment in a safe and appropriate manner to mitigate risk of injury, property damage, and the loss of life in accordance to company health and safety policies

  • Perform daily pre-inspection of equipment to ensure it's safe and fit for duty, conduct on-going maintenance checks, and manage the daily custody of construction equipment

  • Conduct constant surveillance of surroundings before and during the operation of all equipment to ensure safe ground and slope conditions; maintain an adequate distance between other equipment, RECON team members and structures in the immediate work area

  • Communicate clearly using radio contact, visible verbal, and nonverbal hand signals to determine where materials should be safely placed, loaded or unloaded

  • Work closely with the Foreman and Superintendent onsite to perform dirt work with the highest level of quality, receive coaching/direction from senior level equipment operators working together to ensure production remains on schedule and construction work is conducted safely

What We Require:

  • Previous experience operating large heavy construction equipment

  • Must be able to operate heavy construction equipment safely and with confidence to perform excavation and earthwork onsite for projects as assigned

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 40 hour HAZWOPER training certification and/or TWIC preferred

  • Must be able to understand and demonstrate the limitations of heavy equipment, properly interpret load charts for associated heavy equipment and manufacturer approved attachments for the construction equipment

  • Must be willing and able work in an outdoor construction work environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, waste, toxic and infectious materials, and at times inclement weather conditions

  • Equipment Operator is a "traveler" position, it requires working onsite for the duration of the assigned project with a rotation back home monthly
