What are the main duties and responsibilities?

  • Keep the Merlin application running smoothly. This includes in depth troubleshooting of complex applications that work against very large databases. This can be a high stress, time sensitive job. This position is also responsible for communicating issue status to system stakeholders.

What key skills and competencies are you looking for in your ideal candidate?

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex applications/systems

  • In depth Technical understanding of .NET applications and the windows environment. Familiarity with active directory a plus.

  • Understanding of relational databases and the SQL skills to query, update and delete rows in the database as needed. Advanced Database knowledge and tuning a plus.

  • Ability to communicate with users, production support and developers about the issue being worked

  • General Chargeback Process Knowledge a plus

  • Experience with IIS websites a plus.

  • Experience with VMWare Horizon or other desktop virtualization software plus.

How will the new hire be trained for this role?

  • The team member will work with existing production support resources. These resources will direct and train the new hire.

What is a day in the life for this role?

  • The team member will review the previous night’s jobs and research any anomalies. The team member will review the ICD ticket queue and work tickets as needed. The team member will review the production support email queue and work emails as needed.

What are the biggest challenges of this role?

  • Merlin is a complex system with many interlaced applications and a very large database.

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field of study

Are there any skills/certifications that are a requirement for this position?

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex applications

  • Technical understanding of .NET applications and the windows environment.

  • Understanding of relational databases

  • Ability to communicate with users, production support and developers about the issue being worked
