First Solar?s Energy Services unit seeks candidates who believe in our mission of providing cost-advantaged solar services through innovation, customer engagement, industry leadership and operational excellence. Members of the Energy Services team have a direct hand in offsetting carbon emissions from traditional energy sources by ensuring that our customers? power plants are available and performing at optimal levels. Every year, power plants managed by First Solar produced over 11 terawatt hours of clean, renewable energy. This is equivalent to powering 1.2 million homes and removing 1.7 million cars from the road.?

The Energy Services team looks for individuals who enjoy contributing to an innovative, forward-thinking team, are effective problem solvers, data and results driven and continuously look for ways to improve processes to help us lead the world?s sustainable energy future.


+ 5 years professional experience in a technical capacity within the power industry preferably in the utility scale solar O&M.? Some experience in solar PV a must.

+ Proven record of accomplishment of being able to build strong external and internal relationships, business acumen and sales mindset.

+ Experience in creating and presenting technical collateral with focus on differentiation from completion and value generation

+ Knowledge of or ability to learn the high-level design and performance analysis of PV Modules, PV systems, Grid Integration, Operation and Maintenance.

+ Experience/knowledge of solar power plant operations US regulatory compliance as well as power plant performance analytics

+ Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects in parallel


+ Bachelor degree in technical field, EE preferred

+ Master?s degree beneficial

Required Skills/Competencies:

+ Demonstrated experience leading direct and indirect cross-functional teams

+ Demonstrated experience in being a thought leader for technical value differentiation as well as knowledge about industry trends.

+ Demonstrated experience in in creating and presenting technical collateral with focus on differentiation from completion and value generation

+ Experience in leading a deal from originating through contract execution

+ Strong presentation and written skills with ability to communicate and align across multiple regions and language barriers.

+ Demonstrated experience creating and managing key relationships within targeted customers

+ Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor

+ Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs

Essential Responsibilities:

+ Manage the strategic development and distribution of technical sales collateral focused on differentiation from competition and value generatio . Present those materials at customer meetings, industry conferences as well as Webinars.

+ Manage internal and external technical education/training in support of new product launch, new market entry, and new customer acquisition

+ Lead new business development activities for targeted parties

+ Perform technical due diligence on RFPs and new project opportunities and coordinate the generation of required response documents.

+ Develop and manage initiatives to engage cross-functional ES departments in reviewing technical RFP documentation to ensure regulatory compliance, PPA and LGIA standards, CIP requirements and other technical requirements.

+ Serve as the technical liaison during the handoff process from Sales to various departments within ES.? Ensure that each functional team understands their responsibilities under the contract.

+ Serve as a representative for First Solar ES with external parties including Independent Engineers, Technical Advisors, Utilities & Regulatory Authorities and other influential parties within the solar industry in helping to define and create standards for O&M services.

+ Be up to date on the technical aspects of new developments in PV and O&M industry as well as competitor activities. Develop new strategies in response to identified trends.
