JOB SUMMARY:

Works on a variety of electronic designs that constitute a portion of a larger project. Tests designs created by engineers to ensure that electronic systems and components are functioning at desired levels. Trouble-shoot issues with existing designs and manufacturing processes. Performs root cause analysis and makes recommendations for corrections and improvements. Works on a variety of problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

  • Tests, analyzes, and repairs computer technology, instrumentation, communication devices, semiconductor devices, solid state devise and other electronic systems.

  • Collaborates with engineers on product design and manufacturing of electronic components.

  • Follows established processes and directions.

  • Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is an individual contributor with no direct supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position operates in an engineering design and test center and electronics repair center. Employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, and airborne particles. The noise level can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Lift aids are available. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A two-year technical degree from an accredited institution in U.S. or equivalent foreign technical school.

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a technician role.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of standard lab test equipment – oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer.

  • Knowledge of debug/troubleshooting of digital systems and logic.

  • Knowledge of interfaces is highly desired – DRAM, PCI-Express, Ethernet, USB, SATA, I2C, SPI, DC/DC power delivery.

  • Capable of soldering/rework.

  • Understanding of circuit theory.

  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Recognizes and responds successfully to crisis situations.

WORK AUTHORIZATION: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.
