Job Description

  • Client is seeking an General Office Clerk may include sorting checks, keeping payroll records, and take inventory, and distributing mail. A typical office clerk acts as an information and communication distributor for an office.

    Job Responsibilities: - Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints. - Greets visitors, ascertains their identity, has them sign in and notifies appropriate employee of visitor arrival. - Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages. - Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions and other activities. - Compute, record and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports. - Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems. - Instruct staff on proper communication protocol with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints. - Assign staff to compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions and other activities. - Review and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports. - Supervise the maintenance of files, inventory, mailing, and database systems. Skills: - Verbal and written communication skills, multi-tasking, customer service skills and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and manage one's time. - Ability to keep information organized and confidential. - Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. - Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 5-7 years administrative/customer service related experience required.

    Additional Job Description: - This is a Mailroom position: Must be able to sort and deliver mail to business units and centralized locations, provide excellent customer service to business units, internal and external. - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. - Ability to learn the operation of Mailroom equipment. - Daily attendance and punctuality is a must. - Ability to work on your own when required.
