Responsible for assisting the Sanctions Advisory Principal Compliance Officer with developing and monitoring key surveillance points (KSPs) for Financial Security Sanctions controls, as executed by Sanctions Compliance or its Business and Operations partners.
Adhere to Group Generic Control Library framework and BOTW Compliance Monitoring and Oversight Standards, specifically regarding Quality Assurance (QA) practices, control planning, and KSP testing.
Responsible for helping to define the monitoring plan and recommend improvements or enhancements to practices.
Ensure that control documentation is accurate, complete, detailed, and adequate for audit trail purposes, potential internal audit reviews, and regulatory examinations.
Work under the direction of the Sanctions Advisory Principal Compliance to evaluate and measure Sanctions Compliance team processes, risks, control effectiveness, sustainability, regulatory expectations, and internal Group / Bank expectations, in support of strengthening the Bank’s Sanctions Program.
Act as point-of-contact for monitoring and QA related matters for the team.
Define processes for identifying and establishing potential new QA activities and ongoing QA Monitoring Control Plans.
Track and report the review statuses, ratings and possible action plans.
Collaborate with the team to remediate potential issues / delays and ensure partnership across the Sanctions Compliance team, BOTW Compliance, and Group partners.
Required Education or Equivalent Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years related bank compliance experience at major banking institution or regulatory agency
Five to seven years internal audit, compliance, or regulatory experience.
Industry certifications such as CAMs certification from ACAMS preferable.
Strong knowledge of OFAC Sanctions, Anti-Boycott, and other prominent sanctions programs (e.g. EU, UN), Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and FFIEC Examinations Manual.
Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral); experience making presentations.
Independent worker, analytical and critical thinker; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Computer literacy required (Word, Excel, etc.)
Strong knowledge and expertise of Sanctions laws and regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills for coordination/liaison functions.
