POSITION SUMMARY

This position establishes and oversees the execution of an ambitious and comprehensive recruitment strategy roadmap and specific recruitment plan for clinical research recruitment. Responsible for delivering on time, on budget and on scope, book of work to drive business performance and achieve performance targets specifically related to clinical research recruitment.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Directs personnel actions including recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selection of new staff, salary determinations, training, and personnel evaluations. Develops work goals and objectives for the recruitment department in accordance and alignment with company goals; provides leadership, measures and feedback, and motivation for staff achievement of departmental goals.

  2. Responsible for working with key internal and external teams to develop content to support clinical research recruitment. This includes but is not limited to: landing pages, emails to potential clinical study participants, surveys, upcoming study announcements to relevant populations, ads for IRB approval, scripts and talking points for physician to physician connections, and pre-trial screeners.

  3. Develops and implements business and outreach strategies to increase the recruitment of research participants. Markets research activities through meetings, presentations, webinars, printed media, and through other appropriate outreach functions.

  4. Builds an internal culture of innovative thinking that leads to the development and implementation of the company's patient recruitment mission and works with internal and external teams to evaluate and integrate innovative technologies for the successful acquisition of research.

  5. Responsible for maintenance of the recruitment database and ensuring volunteer information is updated with pertinent data. In addition, responsible for management of clinical research recruitment call center operations and phone triage systems.

  6. Regularly attend internal and sponsor study initiation meetings, phone conferences and training.

  7. Produces weekly and monthly reporting. Stays current on leading industry trends that will impact strategies in trial recruitment and effectively applies knowledge.

  8. Leads customer service initiatives to both internal and external customers by implementing and adhering to all applicable service, quality and safety standards. Leads efforts to ensure a positive work environment that demonstrates a dedication to the mission, vision and values of Banner.

  9. This position foresees and resolves complex problems and issues. Responsibility across the assigned study areas and/or departments, with external contact with potential study participants, study sponsors, pharmaceutical sponsors, and collaborative research entities. Frequent internal contact with research staff, entity executives, department heads, financial and administrative staff, and patients. This position is pivotal for meeting targets for new study participants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Nursing, Business, Marketing or related field.

3-5 years of clinical research experience; relevant recruitment experience with clinical trials preferred. Knowledge and work experience in clinical trial and pharmaceutical industries; demonstrated understanding of the clinical trial process; Proven track record of delivering results and meeting targets. Must have a working knowledge of personal software packages to prepare correspondence and presentations, and create and generate spreadsheets and reports. Evening/weekend work required as necessary to meet recruitment goals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Expertise and demonstrated expertise in translating insight into patient centered research campaigns that delivers high quality leads to clinical trials. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
