Responsibilities

One of few local ultrasound departments accredited by the American College of Radiology, St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center has set the bar high for certification of its staff and physicians. Our department employs only board-certified radiologists who are specifically trained in ultrasound in specific types of reading, such as OB and vascular. We have multi-credentialed sonographers dedicated to performing ultrasounds.

This dedication to certification and ongoing education provides patients and physicians with the highest quality images for radiologists to review.

The Ultrasound Department features state of the art ultrasound machines providing information for diagnoses for more then 8,000 patients each year. Areas of specialty include abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, peripheral vascular, cerebral vascular, carotid, and interventional sonography.

Our Ultrasound Diagnostics Department is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. The Ultrasound Tech II performs all levels of ultrasound procedures. Assists with evaluations of equipment and procedures. Liaison for ultrasound interdepartmental procedures. Assumes role of Lead as required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma / GED

Registered with ARDMS and/ or RVT

Completion of ARDMS or ARRT approved ultrasound training program or hospital-based ultrasound training program

American Heart Association BLS

Registered with ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) and/or RVT (Registered Vascular Sonographer) with more than one subspecialty

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Five years ultrasound experience

Additional certifications

Associates or higher college level degree
