Join our Technology Development Program (TDP) and unlock your full potential as a technologist! As a participant, you will help drive exceptional and efficient customer experiences through transformative projects and initiatives, from FinTech partnerships and digital payments to modern application environments and cloud computing.
Based on your skills and interests, you will be placed in one of several tracks. Tracks include software development and engineering, network and systems engineering, data engineering, and testing.

Software Engineer Track - Consumer
As a software engineer, you will work alongside a group of talented engineers as you pursue a broad range of initiatives. By leveraging your technical skills and thirst for innovation, you will produce disruptive Middleware technologies that will ensure Citizens’ market leadership. As a future leader, you will work on multiple solutions spanning our consumer banking applications.
The Software Engineer l will be responsible for:
Designing, modifying, developing and implementing technology solutions; building modern, architecturally sound components, tools and applications to meet mission-driven strategic business goals.
Participating in an environment rapidly transforming to the Agile methodology, adhering to best practices and collaborating effectively with your team mates.
Infusing quality of service characteristics, such as scalability, manageability and maintainability, into distributed service-based framework to create or expand business or technical capabilities.
Employing industry best practices to evaluate, correct and prevent vulnerabilities during the software development process.
Documenting development iterations; ensuring the quality of technical documentation; creating progress reports.
Participating in code and design reviews with Middleware teams to ensure that solutions meet current enterprise standards.
NOTE: THIS PROGRAM IS LOCATED IN PHOENIX, AZ
Within this program, you’ll also have the opportunity to participate concurrently in Early Career Development Programming (ECDP) – a robust, 4-month program designed to give our new colleagues a strong foundation of Citizens. Through the ECDP, you’ll experience:
2-day Orientation in downtown Boston with all bank-wide development program colleagues
Professional development workshops (such as Agile Methodologies and Presence & Presentation)
Customer and client site visits
Networking opportunities with senior leadership
Dedicated community service activities
Strategic Challenge where you’ll work in small teams to solve for an organizational problem and present your recommendations to a panel of executives
NOTE: THIS FULL-TIME PROGRAM BEGINS IN EARLY JUNE 2021
What you’ll need to apply
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or other technology-related degree
Expected graduation date of May 2021
Minimum GPA 3.0
Experience in software development
Familiarity with full-stack development
Demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment; strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience with collecting requirements, creating software designs and developing efficient implementations
Understanding of data structure concepts such as linked lists, dictionaries, arrays, custom object creation, etc.
AWS/AZURE/GCP experience preferred
Knowledge of CICD pipeline (CircleCI, Jenkins, or equivalent) preferred
