nWe are seeking an experienced surgical pathology lead to work in our anatomic pathology department at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix. This position will work full time and perform antomic pathology clinical functions as well as oversee department functions and workflow.n

This position will coordinate the efforts of the site surgical pathology assistants and assist the AP Production Manager and AP Technical Specialists in assuring all tasks are performed appropriately. This position will be the liaison between the histology department at Papago and the hospital site surgical pathology department to assure all specimens are properly handled and triaged and that all proper documentation is completed. This position will be involved with QC/QA documentation.
nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good analytical/strategic skills.
• Ability to effectively utilize computer software programs including MS Word and MS Excel.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year previous medical laboratory experience in specimen handling. Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the Pathology field. Evidence of increasing responsibility in personnel interaction and organizational skills.
AA degree. Two (2) years' experience in a Surgical or Anatomic Pathology lab.
