VMware Solution Architect - End User Computing - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Phoenix, Arizona

We are looking for an End-User Computing (EUC) Solution Architect to support our continued demand in our end user computing solution as part of VMware’s Global Support organization. Candidates should have a deep understanding of mobile/desktop solutions that enable an anywhere workforce. As a member of the VMware EUC Solution Architect group you are laser focused on helping our customers and internal teams. You will be acting as a lead EUC technologist and should have a broad understanding of technology in addition to VMware EUC products such as Workspace ONE, Horizon, and Horizon Cloud. As such you will be responsible for working with our customers to assist with resolution of complex technical issues. You will be a confident trusted advisor to our customers during times of crisis. You will be responsible for enabling, creating, and developing advanced product training that will be targeted towards VMware technical support staff across the globe. To be successful in this role, you must have a good mix of technical skills, business acumen, and a strong desire to support our customer.

The EUC Solution Architect role is a critical, high impact, high visibility role in resolving complex business and political situations with large scale enterprise accounts as well as influencing the direction of future VMware products and services. An ideal candidate takes initiative with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who holds themselves and others accountable, while building positive relationships and partnering with teams, both internally and externally. He/she can navigate through critical situations with poise, humility, confidence, integrity and control.

Job Roles Responsibilities

  • Spearhead escalated incidents

  • Engage with clients and internal teams at many levels (CxO’s, VPs, Directors of IT, and Architects/Engineers); building relationships, evangelizing VMware solutions, and providing domain expertise to assist in resolving complex problems

  • Improve VMware product documentation and troubleshooting materials

  • Lead post escalation reviews and drive measurable customer experience improvements across business units.

  • Participate in product design discussions to represent customer needs and challenges

  • Participate in VMware events such as Radio and VMworld by writing white papers and giving presentations

Required Skills and Technical Experience:

  • You have experience managing and troubleshooting end user computing products. VMware Workspace ONE and Horizon suite of products preferred. This role will focus on Horizon VDI, Workspace ONE Access and our Gateways (SEG, Tunnel, and UAG).

  • Strong understanding of enterprise grade on premise and cloud application architecture and components

  • Ability to understand deep technical issues and translate them based on your audience

  • You are effective in working independently with minimal supervision in a collaborative team setting, where you build relationships with various cross-functional departments and customers.

  • BA/BS degree or higher, or equivalent job-related experience.

  • Experience working directly with developers and software engineers to resolve software problems and have exposure with object-oriented programming

  • The ability to work flexible hours depending on the needs of our customers and the business as well as travel domestically and/or internationally when needed (<10%)
