This position manages and/or supports Treasury’s system-wide debt, cash management, and investment programs, including the management of financial instruments and banking infrastructure, maintaining diversified portfolios, and delivering excellent customer service; while maximizing efficiencies, reducing costs, and supporting Banner’s ongoing operations and strategic initiatives. This position will serve as a leader in debt and cash management projects. Has freedom to determine how to best accomplish functions with minimal supervision. Internal customers include all levels of management. External customers include, but are not limited to bankers, advisors, trustees, custodians, and managers.
Implements and maintains processes and controls to manage Treasury functions securely and efficiently, including complex debt management programs and/or products necessary to finance Banner’s capital and operational objectives, while overseeing all aspects of the centralized Debt Management Program (“DMP”).
Maintains and supports all tax-exempt and taxable multi-billion-dollar debt programs including bonds, lines of credit, letters of credit, commercial paper, direct purchase, etc. Maintains a billion-dollar swap program, including collateral posting, and mark-to-market calculations.
Maintains databases for reconciling, recording, and reporting information to management and the Board, including month-end journal entries and quarterly and annual audit footnotes.
Anticipates internal and external business challenges and outcomes and recommends best practices to improve services, processes, and/or products while managing projects and programs. Provides analysis and recommendations through research, industry intelligence, scenario modeling, and risk analysis.
Assists with operational oversight of debt, cash, investments, and other Treasury responsibilities, including maintaining systems and accounts, banker and/or vendor relationships, liquidity, investment of surplus cash, and cash forecasting for multiple companies.
Provides analysis and recommendations for the treasury function through research, industry intelligence, scenario modeling and risk analysis.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field, or equivalent related experience (5-8 years).
In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and debt principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills and management skills.
Knowledge of treasury functions.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or Certified Cash Manager (CCM) preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
