About the Team

There are a lot of activities that happen in our stores, so we have 2 operations teams to make sure things run smoothly: Store Operations team and Services Operations team. Store Operations leads all operations in the core section of our stores including merchandise execution, process improvement, associate engagement, live pet care, and labor optimization. Our Services group leads all the efforts for Pet Grooming, PetsHotel, Doggie Day Camp and Pet Training. Both teams work hard to take care of our associates, pets, and pet parents while also working to grow this unique piece of our business.

About the Job

The Planning & Analytics Manager will be part of PetSmart’s Services team at the corporate office and play a critical role in understanding the current Services business performance. The role will be responsible specifically for Salon (grooming) & will be a key leader within the salon organization to drive staffing and sales planning.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop yearly, seasonal and weekly class financial plans (sales, units & staffing) in accordance with company goals, historical performance and trend analysis.

  • Analyze and re-forecast the business; have a constant POV on class performance, forecast expectations and how staffing & capacity is impacting top-line performance

  • Drives analysis on the salon business: reviewing class and category performance, attachment rate, capacity and other relevant business metrics; proactively calling out recommendations for changes

  • Provide monthly insight into health of our staffing business; providing insights into staffing levels by job group, regional insights of staffing levels and proactively recommending opportunities to field team.

  • Owns relationship with Salon Field team, providing strong reporting, analysis and regional splits of the business to drive outlier management and impetus for change.

  • Owns relationship with finance partners helping to support monthly forecast reviews, monthly P&L reviews and any other related function or questions.

  • Supports labor analysis where needed: deep diving into store level analysis to recommend new optimization efforts

    Key Needs:

  • Financial Leader, must be a self-starter

  • Enterprise Planning experience is preferred

  • Planning experience is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability within analytics & problem solving

  • Strong excel, tableau & power BI preferred
