Our shifts typically are: 2:00 AM - 12:30PM
11 AM - 9:30PM
9 PM - 7:30AM
Our hospital phlebotomy positions will involve extensive walking throughout all hospital units and will include COVID patients and other patients in different precaution statuses. This means that you will be asked to wear, and change, additional PPE multiple times throughout your shift. Working with the the unforeseen volumes and challenges with this pandemic will be physically and emotionally taxing. We are in need of dedicated, patient focused individuals who are committed to ensuring patient wellbeing and who are able to endure emotionally and physically demanding work for the greater good of our community.
This position requires performing safety-sensitive functions in the healthcare industry and as a result, we do not hire people who use marijuana for such a safety-sensitive position.
This position may be located within a Hospital facility, Patient Service Center, IOP, or Long Term Care Department. This position is responsible for the collection and receipt of biological specimens into the department, their proper entry into the company’s computer system, the preparation of samples for analytical testing and/or the distribution of these specimens to the proper analytical area. This includes responsibility for pre and post aspects of analytical testing. This position will also perform specified analytical testing as assigned. Follows the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.

Responsibility may include oversight of specimen collection, processing and referral testing. Assists department manager/supervisor with managing company and department actions. Internal customers are directors, leaders, managers, supervisors and department employees. External customers are patients, physicians, pathologists, medical directors, nurses, vendors, suppliers, and laboratory service representatives
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and stretch frequently May be required to lift up to 25 pounds Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and body fluids. Needs adequate color vision. Requires significant use of personal computer, phone and general office equipment. Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone. May require off-site travel.
Minimum age requirement of 18.
Must be a high school graduate, or have achieved equivalency through the GED exam.
Good reading, writing and math abilities are required.
Good organizational skills are also required.
Basic knowledge of department resource materials.
Previous experience of at least six months in a clinical laboratory setting.
Phlebotomy positions may substitute completion of a phlebotomy school for experience.
Basic computer skills required.
Position may require ADHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain fingerprint certification.
Long Term Care and Float positions must possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
