Albertsons Payment Services Specialist in PHOENIX, Arizona

The Payment Services Department has an opening for a Payment Services Specialist I. This position is based in North Phoenix, AZ with FULL-TIME hours working some nights and weekends. This position starts off at $16.80 per hour with a shift differential in pay when working nights and weekends. What you will do: * Represents Albertsons Companies with professional and ethical work standards consistent with the mission and management policy of the company and department. Ensure the protection and privacy of customer's financial and personal identifiable information (PII). * Collections - This position is expected to utilize various collection strategies/techniques in an attempt to collect payments while following the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP). * Dispute Resolution -- Record the initial intake of the dispute and investigate disputes involving payment acceptance, return checks, ACH, credit and debit transactions. This includes analyzing and following through of payment disputes, potential fraudulent activity, identity theft, police reports/affidavits, and bankruptcy notifications. * Check Authorization - Provide assistance to retail stores to help resolve check authorization situations such as payroll, ACH, and check declines at the POS. This includes maintaining the check/ACH authorization databases for situations such as customer upgrades, velocity limits, fraud and risk control, and overrides. * Operational support of ACH programs (SmartCheck and Fast Forward) -- Enrollments and updates customer's accounts to include identity verification, administrative updates, approvals and declinations. * Position requires flexible scheduling including varying shifts (early AM through late PM), including weekends and holidays. What you bring along: * Two or more years college in Business or related field. Associates Degree preferred. * Three (3) plus years of retail or customer service experience * Two (2) plus years of financial, collections, and/or banking experience * General knowledge of collection regulations and guidelines Skills and Experiences: * Strong ability to multi-task * Must be able to navigate through twelve (12) plus different applications at the same time * Must have computer keyboard skills * Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work in a fast paced environment while providing a high degree of customer focus * Proficiency using Internet/Web Browser applications, Windows OS, Microsoft Office Applications including knowledge of Word, Excel and Access * Ability to quickly learn and use other software packages * Ability to compute basic math calculations. * Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly for written and verbal communications * Ability to problem solve and independently make good sound decisions * Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision * Ability to handle diverse situations About the company Albertsons Companies is at the forefront of the revolution in retail. POSITION PURPOSE: The Payment Services Specialist I provides POS Payment Acceptance Support and Collections Services to our customers and store personnel while achieving monthly individual and team based targeted performance goals. This position is committed to treating customers with integrity and respect while protecting the interests of the company. This includes the intake/resolving of all types of payment (credit, debit, ACH, and checks) disputes/inquires, the collections of check/ACH returns, ACH enrollments and updates, and to bring inquiries to a satisfactory conclusion. This position provides one point of contact to our customers, store personnel, and external requests to ensure that the aforementioned issues are handled in a consistent and timely manner, and in accordance with federal/state regulations. In addition, the Payment Services Specialist I is responsible for assisting with administrative tasks that include responding to customer correspondence, skip tracing, bank errors, bankruptcy claims, and assisting with investigating potential fraudulent transactions to resolve identity and transaction fraud.
