Position Summary


The National Mission Critical Leader will be responsible for leading the design of solar energy projects including: Being the engineer of record, working with discipline leads to create project schedules and budgets, coordinating quality assurance and control as well as building relationships and communicating with clients. In this role, you will work with Business Development and Marketing teams to respond to RFPs (Request for Proposals) by creating an applicable scope of work and cost.


This role will be a part of DLR Groups Engineering leadership team and will have the opportunity to build the Mission Critical landscape of our future. This is a key position that will have responsibility for significant revenue growth.


The successful candidate will


+ Lead the design of mission critical projects.


+ Develop client relationships and be integral to the business development initiatives.


+ Manage project execution and client expectations to adhere to budget, schedule, and scope.


+ Develop communicate and update project plans including information such as project objectives, technical specifications, schedules, and staffing.


+ Assign duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to project personnel.


+ Direct or coordinate activities of project personnel, vendors and consultants.


+ Ensures project information is incorporated into project documents.


+ Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards.


+ Supervise the application of project and practice standards.


+ Provide training and mentorship to younger staff and emerging professionals.


+ Perform the code review for more complex applications.


+ Perform a QA/QC review of the project deliverables.


+ Work with DLR Group Engineering Leadership in negotiating contracts and developing the scope and fee for services.




Required Qualifications


+ Required Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.


+ Professional (AIA or PE) Licensure.


+ 10+ years in a leadership role developing and designing mission critical facilities.


+ Must have a comprehensive understanding of codes, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to technically support the design disciplines in developing technical solutions.


+ Recognized in the industry as an expert in the Mission Critical building type.


+ Must be a strong communicator, collaborative, detail oriented, and organized.


Preferred Qualifications


+ Masters Degree in: Architecture, Engineering, Business.


+ PMP Certification.
