Join a team of experienced programmers who provide quality support for our customers! The Patient Management Systems Group (PMSG) is responsible for supporting the MedSeries4 application for all facilities across three production environments including: installing new releases, retrofitting custom code into new versions of programs, managing projects and data validation.
As an IT Software Engineer you will be providing uninterrupted support and maintain day-to-day operations of MedSeries4 and NextGen . This will include daily processes and data extracts. In addition, you will write or modify new programs based on customer requests.
The preferred candidate will have experience writing Microsoft SQL scripts, experience with Nextgen, MedSeries4(MS4), or Cerner Revenue Cycle application, as well as knowledge of RPG programming, IBM System-I or Java.

This position requires expertise in selected business or healthcare processes and participates in formulating system scope and objectives relative to the company’s requirements. Works as part of a team who provides knowledge, guidance, research and fact finding expertise to define, design, and code programs within applications and on various hardware platforms.
Creates and installs computer code following established coding standards to instruct a system to perform a required function by working close with peers and customers.
Tests application programs utilizing available productivity tools following established testing standards.
Documents programs created using established standards with programs and external documents noting relationships with other programs and applications.
Works with the customer to research and develop solutions. Designs work flows and specifications for presentation to senior members of the team and customers for feedback and approval.
Supports and practices established change control standards
This position has responsibility for selected information applications or systems. Work is performed in a fast paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. The incumbent has minor level decision-making authority for projects, coding, and applications and works at peer level. The incumbent participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions system wide.
Must possess a strong knowledge as typically obtained by a Bachelor's degree related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience.
Must understand and work with at least one programming language and related hardware. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.
General knowledge of healthcare industry.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
