The IT Customer Relations East Service Area is responsible for meeting the on-site needs of Banner Acute Hospitals located in the East Valley. currently this team supports locations in Mesa, Queen Creek, and Gilbert. In this role as the IT Facility Desktop Engineer you will assist with technical support of Desktop computers, laptops, applications and related technology. This includes installation and upgrade of hardware, troubleshooting and problem resolution, and preventative maintenance in accordance with standard guidelines and procedures. In this position you will interface with other information technology team members, as well as employees, leaders and physicians on a regular basis to support information technology needs.

This position requires desktop experience with hardware and software troubleshooting. Customer service and communication skills are critical. The primary location for this position will be Banner Desert Medical Center (Dobson Rd & US60), with occasional travel to other Banner Locations in the area. Typically, this will be an 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule with occasional schedule flexibility when necessary. On-call support is required for one week several times a year. This will be on a rotation with other Desktop Engineers in the East Service Area and can include holidays

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is an entry level position that supports and maintains the desktop and mobile computing environments to ensure high quality customer service. This position is responsible for interfacing with team members within the department, as well as, customers throughout the enterprise in various project assignments and daily duties.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists customers with installation, configuration, ongoing usability of desktop related endpoints and software complying with given standards and guidelines to include onsite, remote, affiliates and partners.

  2. Communicates with customer throughout the lifecycle of the provided service to ensure the customer stays informed.

  3. Follows standard procedures to perform basic desktop troubleshooting, request fulfillment and other support activities, escalating issues to Desktop Tech III, Desktop Tech IV or IT Coordinator as appropriate.

  4. Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the supported desktop environment.

  5. Follows all asset management procedures and guidelines. Ensures order and stock management are maintained.

  6. Documents all actions of end-user requests and/or problem resolution using tracking management systems.

  7. Assists in needs assessment recommendations though the appropriate investigation of specific customer and departmental computing needs.

  8. This position is responsible for systems across multiple departments system-wide and requires interactions at all levels of staff and management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Strong work ethic and initiative to work well in a team environment. Customer service skills. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of staff and management. Must be knowledgeable and technically adept in the use and operation of a wide range of desktop, mobile devices and network connectivity. Knowledge of Microsoft Office O365 applications.

Variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree or combination of education and relevant work experience.

A+ Certification. Net+ Certification. General knowledge of a healthcare environment is desirable. Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role. Hands-on experience with Windows OS and mobile platforms.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
