Responsibilities
Join us now as a Certified Pharmacy Technician working in a fast-paced environment. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, pharmacy technicians perform drug distribution activities including: servicing Omnicell machines, delivering medications to nursing units and procedural areas, and unit dosing medications. Pharmacy technicians also perform sterile and non-sterile compounding of medications, including hazardous drugs, following USP <795>, USP <797> and USP <800> guidelines.
As a pharmacy technician, you will be exposed to many different technologies and automation devices. These include: 96 Omnicell machines, four carousels, MEPs RFID tracking, Fluidose, MILT, and Temptrak.
The pharmacy department is completing a renovation that includes state-of-the-art USP <795> and USP <800> compliant clean rooms incorporating MedKeeper remote verification software.
As a pharmacy technician, you may be exposed to several of the following shifts: Front Counter, Transporter, Carousel, Omnicell Restocking, IV Room, Box/Kit Refilling, Unit-Dose Packaging, Medication History or Narcotics.
This is a variable shift position, working a mix of days and evening shifts. Pharmacy technicians are also required to work every other weekend. Major holidays are staffed using a model that rotates shifts every other year.
The majority of daytime shifts start at 7:30am, with a few shifts starting at 5:30am and 6:30am. Evening shifts start at 2pm and 3pm. All daytime and evening shifts are 8 hours. Evening shift and weekend shift differential is offered.
The pharmacy department is actively involved in programs to support St. Vincent de Paul and hospital employees through Adopt-a-Family Christmas gifts, Easter baskets, Back to school drive, and canned food drive. There is also a department specific employee recognition program called GEM "going the extra mile" where staff members can recognize each other's great work.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED
Arizona Pharmacy Tech License
Pharmacy Tech Certification
PREFERRED:
1+ years of acute care pharmacy experience
IV room experience
