JOB SUMMARY

Assists in the coordination, specification, development, integration, and implementation of GIS technologies, resources, and data. This includes assessment of client GIS needs, database design and management, GIS application development, GIS standards and training, and other activities for the enterprise GIS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Downloads and organizes data from multiple sources and maintains information on data sources.

Maintains and updates proprietary data associated with specific markets to be utilized in mapping products.

Organizes, announces, and maintains updates or new versions of tools within mapping software.

Maintains and updates CBRE office location mapping files for the purpose of having an accurate location file for the company.

Assists mappers with geocoding large international/national locations to position the location with real world coordinates.

Supports Sr. Coordinators in research functions as it pertains to GIS concepts, data, methods, products, technologies.

Assists in elements of GIS training, resource management, and coordination of product marketing.

Assists in the implementation of GIS into web-based spatial solutions and geospatial products, so end-users can fulfill their needs through self-service.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a major or minor in Geography or related field; or Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with training in GIS technology. Requires 3 - 5 years of experience.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

None.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply operations such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Advanced proficiency in MapInfo Professional (or similar application), word processing, spreadsheet, programming, and presentation applications required. Knowledge of GIS terms and definitions, real estate terms and definitions, real estate analytical methods required. Proficiency in MapInfo or Atlas GIS and GIS-related technologies required. Knowledge of Company information systems preferred.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
