Kimley-Horn Entry-Level – Construction Management in Phoenix, Arizona
Kimley-Horn, a national consulting engineering and planning firm and one of Fortune Magazine’s 100 best places to work, seeks a high-energy, self-driven proactive entry-level Construction Management graduate to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This challenging, highly visible position will be a key member of the Real Estate Services team and will report directly to the Real Estate Manager (REM).
The candidate in this position will work with tenant’s construction oversight of office build outs nationwide. This role involves extensive weekday travel (60-75%); occasional weekend travel; frequent interaction with office, regional, and corporate staff and contractors, property managers, and vendors. Flexible mentality, excellent communication skills, good Microsoft Office and Skype for Business skills, excellent architectural document review understanding, extra-effort drive, strong customer-service focus, and ability to multi-task essential.
BS in Construction Management or related fields
Work with architect, office leader and Regional Facility Coordinator (RFC) on 30/60/90 percent construction document reviews
Review bid submissions for value analysis and procure contractor proposals for REM review
Ensure corporate branding features and design color palettes are being used appropriately
Assist REM with construction oversight
Work with RFC and building management on permits, COIs and complying with building rules
Regular travel during work week and occasionally on weekends, as required to meet project milestones
Physically attend major construction kick off meetings and punch walks
Participate in numerous weekly construction meetings (in person or by phone) to discuss progress, problems, and scheduling on each project
Review work performed by the construction team, in conjunction with the design team, to ensure that materials furnished, and the work performed are in accordance with the drawings, specifications and contract documents (QC/QA)
Assist RFCs with office move weekends, as needed
Document project progress and issues through weekly written reports for each project
Review Pay Apps and verify all claim releases required to issue final certificate of completion and final payment to the construction team
Assist with having the project delivered on time, on budget and to Kimley-Horn specifications
Facilitate communication amongst stakeholders
Work with RFCs to ensure timely billing from our vendors and processing of invoices
Acquire close out binders, including as-builts
Work in conjunction with RFC to decommission existing offices
Assist with gathering data for yearly budget process
Mentor and develop RFCs
Participate in weekly RES team calls
Attend monthly project budget to actual meeting
