JFCS Administration Domestic Violence Advocate in Phoenix, Arizona

* Full Time Position *

Under the supervision of the Director, Shelter Without Walls and in conformance with acceptable social work practice and the agency’s program definition and policies, the Domestic Violence Advocate provides guidance, domestic violence education, safety planning, advocacy, case management, supportive counseling, phone consultation and resource linkage and referral to victims and survivors of domestic violence. The Domestic Violence Advocate also represents JFCS and Shelter Without Walls to the community and helps build and maintain a partnership with community agencies.

  • Provides direct service to program participants, including managing inquiry calls, completing phone screenings, completing intakes, developing and implementing the participants’ Case Plans for Success

and providing ongoing case management, advocacy, domestic violence education and support services during client’s participation in program. Maintains active caseload of 15 – 20 clients.

  • Completes client record documentation professionally and on-time using the Agency’s electronic medical record system.

  • Participates in regular staff meetings, JFCS agency meetings as required, and community partner meetings as a representative of JFCS when appropriate, i.e., DV Collaborator’s Meeting.

  • Participates in mandatory and ongoing program training to increase knowledge of best practices and be in compliance with funding and regulatory requirements.

  • Completes agency mandated personnel documentation accurately and in a timely manner, i.e., timesheets, mileage forms, supervision, training logs, etc.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with victims of domestic violence.

  • Significant knowledge of, and interest in, domestic violence intervention with families and children.

  • Ability to work independently on specific assignments.

  • Ability to be flexible as specific tasks will change.

  • Relliable Trransportation

  • Ability to obtain / maintain DPS level 1 fingerprint clearance card without restriction(s)

  • AZ drivers license

  • AZ auto insurance

  • Approved MVR Record

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job including prolonged sitting and in certain positions driving, lifting 20lbs, walking, standing and executing dexterity with a keyboard or smart pad.
