Salad and Go Distribution Center Culture Leader in Phoenix, Arizona

Position Summary: A Culture Leader is an integral part of the Culture Team serving on the front lines to ensure the values and culture of Salad and Go are being carried out at the DC and throughout our continued growth. This role is responsible for supporting individual and team development, recruiting, hiring, retention and keeping a pulse on the company culture. The Culture Leader is responsible for creating a space where the team members are excited and proud of where they work, plus feel connected to their team and the mission of Salad and Go. Their actions set examples for others to follow and ensure that the team members’ voices are always heard.

The Culture Leader has the following primary responsibilities:

  • Create a trusted, culture-friendly work environment where everyone feels free to share their opinions, ideas, and concerns without hesitation.

  • Serve as the DC representative, supporting the team with any HR needs and follow-up tasks.

  • Proactively shape the culture of the team through specific tools, programs, and activities: (Culture Challenges, Spirit Days, Team Bondings, Volunteer Opportunities, Educational Opportunities, Recognition Programs, Culture Check-Ins, CARE Conversations, etc.)

  • Track all recruiting and culture support efforts to provide weekly reports and updates.

  • Conduct Culture Investigations – as needed – for deeper dive into the Culture of the Distribution Center

  • Identify, regulate, and recognize emotions, trends, and other triggers to indicated cultural issues among teams and individuals.

  • Internal communications support with social media and newsletter content – provide pictures, testimonials, and other content as needed for social media posts.

  • Support the team through ensuring performance reviews, 360 surveys, and engagement surveys are conducted on a consistent basis.

  • Directly involved in the Salad Donations Program and support community relations efforts through attending and training at donation sites.

  • Partner with all departments to ensure efficient communications and constant development of our teams

  • Support the Culture Team efforts at the DC and partner with the Training Team for onboarding and a positive new hire experience.

  • Manage the interviews calendar and maintain consistent communication with DC leadership to ensure the people needs are updated and filled

  • Oversee the recruiting and hiring process - phone screens, interviews, and hiring team members

  • Matching Team Members to educational opportunities and career path

  • Constant communication with Culture Team for updates on staffing needs, trainings, terminations, transitions, etc. for reporting and hiring need tracking


The ideal candidate:

  • HR Experience and knowledgeable of HR laws and policies (HR Generalist preferred)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (required)

  • English and Spanish both written and spoken (required)

  • Leads with compassion and integrity, keeping the values and mission of SAG as a focus.

  • Is a self-starter with the desire to recruit, hire, inspire, develop, and engage team members

  • Has strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Has a true passion for developing others and is always looking to improve their own skills
