The Director, Compliance, and Internal Audit will be responsible for setting the professional practice tone of the Compliance and Internal Audit function. The Director will own all fundamental standards and quality metrics for the compliance and audit function and develop a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes while managing all facets of fraud detection and prevention at Terros Health.

Terros Health (http://www.terroshealth.org) is hiring a Full-Time, Director, Compliance and Internal Audit at our Central Avenue location in Phoenix, AZ.
Required: Minimum 10+ Years of Relevant Experience With 5+ Years in a Management Role
Bachelor’s Degree Required; Advanced Degree Preferred
Director Compliance and Internal Audit Duties Include:
Develop and facilitate the implementation of a Corporate Compliance Program which includes the 7 elements of Corporate Compliance for Terros Health
Stays abreast of changes in regulatory and/or legal requirements and provides guidance and direction regarding implementation of changes.
Perform and oversee audits, report the results to management and track management’s immediate and long-term actions to resolve audit findings which may include: clinical documentation and billing corrections, EHR system improvements and targeted training of employees.
Acts as an objective source of independent advice for senior leadership to ensure validity and legality.
Lead initiatives to detect and prevent fraud from occurring, including conducting special reviews and investigations related to potential loss and fraud.
Serve as Privacy Officer, through overseeing investigations, updating, and maintaining policies and procedures and monitoring and implementing regulatory changes related to privacy practices as appropriate. In collaboration with COO, ensure that any potential breaches of Protected Health Information are fully investigated and reported timely to appropriate parties.
Partners with the Chief Operations Officer and Human Resources on supporting the Ethics Hotline Complaints and managing follow up activities, as appropriate.
Interviews, selects and trains employees to ensure department objectives are met with low turnover and high retention rates.
Manages staff performance through effective, regular and timely feedback, including regular one-on-one meetings and timely completion of performance reviews, and holding employees accountable for meeting deliverables and following Terros Health’s values and policies and procedures.

This is a Full-Time position
Required: Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years in a management role.
Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to create change through influence and relationships.
Relevant certifications strongly preferred, including the following:
Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
Understanding of health care regulations and the ability to read and interpret complex regulatory language.
Extensive knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Must have valid Arizona driver’s license, be 22 years of age with minimum 3 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy
Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.
Must pass a TB Test.
