Position Summary

Applies the principles of accounting within an assigned area of accounting. Creates and interprets moderately complex financial statements and reports. Compiles financial information, processes journal entries into various accounts, and reconciles reports and financial data. Assist in creating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the company’s internal control procedures and standard operating procedures. Some familiarity with an awareness of the state and federal laws and regulations that apply to an accounting function are required to ensure compliance.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manages the accounting control over the general ledger and accounting processes of the company including all accounting operational functions

  • Develops financial reports for financial analysis, expense monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow trending, and results analysis for different time periods as required by the company. This includes the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for consolidated business results

  • Lead the annual budgeting process with follow up on monthly reporting of actuals vs budget including updated forecasts for the remainder of the rolling year

  • Interprets financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions. Specifically, works with management and practice leaders to understand, measure, and report on key operating and financial metrics for their practice groups, solution lines, departments, and company

  • Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles to help in the preparation of monthly financial statements

  • Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations pertaining to the company in all jurisdictions where the company operates. Oversee regulatory reporting which includes but is not limited to tax planning and compliance

  • Initiates and processes journal entries into various accounts

  • Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences

  • Explains accounting transactions; resolves accounting issues and discrepancies

  • Assists in payroll tax and federal tax reporting

  • Uses various computer software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports. As needed evaluates, recommends, and implements new accounting software and tools

  • Ability to create and present accounting and financial presentations

  • Responsible for vendor management and staff management as assigned

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. CPA preferred. Two-year accounting degree with equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Knowledge of accounting and audit principles required with good analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Advance working knowledge of using financial systems including QuickBooks. Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word, PowerPoint required

  • At least 10+ years of relevant accounting experience with 2+ years in similar role. Services industry accounting experience preferred.

  • Travel as required by the Company to include support of but not limited to career development, acquisition evaluation, and fundraising
