This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Saturday - Wednesday 11:30am-8:00pm EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. We offer 1 week of paid training. The hours during training will be Monday- Friday from 8:30am-5:00pmEST. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Contact customers to review their prior authorization determination

  • Must have accurate documentation

  • Must meet weekly metrics

  • Work independently to reach goals and members/day

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • 2+ years of customer service experience in a call center environment

  • 1+ years of experience working with ICD-9 / 10 and CPT codes

  • Experience working with Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving documents) and Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, saving spreadsheets)

  • Experience working with a PC and windows applications, with the ability to learn other sometimes complex systems

  • Any experience working within the healthcare industry

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology

  • Must be available to work Saturday - Wednesday from 11:30am-8:00pm EST with overtime as needed

  • Must be located within a commutable distance to any UHG office

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • You will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s US Telecommuting Policy

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $15.00 - $25.19.
