Knight Transportation Breakdown Manager in Phoenix, Arizona
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Assess the situation of the driver, status of equipment involved and optimal solution for load recovery and initiate appropriate responses that are safe, efficient and cost-effective.
Interact with impacted drivers to determine next steps the ensure safety of the drivers and recovery of loads.
Manage over-the-road wreck repairs of company owned units to ensure units are repaired at minimal or cost of loss.
Maintain the daily wrecked truck report with unit information, photos, location, movement/completion dates.
Plan and dispatch wreck recovery trucks.
Create wreck recovery orders, equipment move orders, and orders for internal shop parts and equipment deliveries to various terminals in our system.
Determine best repair option considering proximity, availability and cost.
Initiate payments (credit card or generate invoices) to vendors up to authorized amounts.
Answer vendor questions related to payments.
Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
Skills: Must be able to handle high volume of calls each day. Must be able to multi-task. Must be able to evaluate situations quickly. Must be able to solve problems under high-pressure circumstances. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience Required: Previous experience as technician or mechanic in trucking industry preferred. Previous call center experience preferred.
