Duties:Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, works with the medical staff to coordinate patient referrals for services not provided at North Country HealthCare (NCHC). Provides a variety of clerical and general office support duties to facilitate the smooth flow of patients.

Coordinates referral to external medical providers.

Obtains authorizations from various insurance companies according to their plan requirements.

Tracking and following to close the loop making sure patients have seen referred provider.

Maintains documentation and logs of patient referrals.

Communicates status of patient referrals to the medical staff and the patient.

Provides backup for clerical and or medical staff as needed.

Participates in meetings as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma

12 to 18 months prior related experience

Medical terminology


Phone based work


Medical records

Medical insurance

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
