Will have completed a caregiver training program and or currently holds caregiver certificates. Holds and maintains current CPR and first aid certification. Is at least 18 years of age. Receives satisfactory references from previous employersSkills and Abilities Required Must have the ability to speak, write and understand English; patient care guidelines/medical instructions are written in English per regulatory standards. Is self-directing with the ability to work with limited direct supervision. Comfortable with issues of death/dying. Provides a calm manner when in a clients home. Understands Miracles Life Care philosophy and is comfortable providing specialized care to the elderly or terminally ill. Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired. Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene. Ability to lift, position, and/or transfer patients. Ability to lift supplies and equipment. Must possess visual acuity and hearing to be able to perform required care giving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good observational skills. Good organizational and prioritization skillsResponsibilities Performs personal care needs according to the client's personalized plan of care Bathing/hair washing Oral hygiene Dressing Administering medication Changing bed linens/light housekeeping Plans and prepares nutritious meals as assigned. Assists in feeding Takes and records temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure Reports on clients condition and significant changes to the home manager. Assists in ambulation and exercise of resident. Offers and assists with bedpans and urinals. Provides assistance as assigned. Performs exercise or other treatments as ordered by medical practitioner with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency. Keeps the clients living area clean and orderly, as assigned. Respectful of client/family/caregiver environment and the clients personal needs. Performs housekeeping and laundry services to maintain environmental standards. The trained caregiver is also responsible for meal preparation and light housekeeping.The trained caregiver is a member of the Miracles Life Care Home Teams and works under the supervision of the home manager or Chief Operations Officer, and to perform various services for the client as necessary to meet the clients personal needs and to promote comfort.
