LifePoint Health Rad/CT Tech - FT - Days ($12K Sign on Bonus) in Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Provides computed tomography imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

TECHNICAL SKILLS - Responsible for obtaining assessing patient, obtaining history, following protocols and documenting thorough notes to radiologist as appropriate for the procedure. Produces films of best image quality and works under the supervision of radiologist.

THROUGHPUT/EFFICIENCY/INITIATIVE - Seeks and recognizes work to be done, reviews patient order in its entirety, matching informaiton to the correct procedure, plans environment in the best interest of patient and their safety, uses free time constructively (minimizing delays), is enthusiastic to learn. PACS, PACScube, IMAGING NETWORK - Understands and troubleshoots network, HMS and PACS issues for the department and facility. Is responsible to reporting issues to IT/PACS Administrator accurately detailing network versus worklist concerns.

ORDERS, PERTINENT HISTORY AND CHARGES - Can accurately select the differences in procedure descriptions, CPT codes, authorizations, ICD-10 within orders and their impact on patient financial responsibility

COMMUNICATION AS TECHNOLOGIST - Listens and communicates effectively with patients, radiologists, medical staff, nursing staff and nursing supervisor.Responds positively and openly to suggesions, follows direction, retains and integrates suggestions, communicates in a team building manner, shows respect for those around them (patients, providers and coworkers).

MANAGEMENT OF MEDICATION AND CONTRAST MEDIA - Demonstrates awareness of role of technologist with administration, storage and procurement of contrast media. Assisting with conscious sedation and its impact on patient safety.

RADIATION AND MRI SAFETY TECHNOLOGIST - Follows established radiation safety guidelines ALARA in reference to time, distance and shielding. Understands and maintains safety guidelines for MRI. Coordinates care as appropriate in these environments.

PATIENT CARE IN IMAGING ENVIRONMENT - Exhibits patience and empathy to work with patients, refers to patient by name, explains procedures to put patient "at ease", recognizes and meets patients needs, aids the patient into position through proper communication. Keeps assigned area clean and orderly maintaining supplies to the room. Is careful with the equipment cleaning between after each patient.
