Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Gilbert, the Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, is a 198-bed, not-for profit hospital with more than 1,300 employees and almost 900 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. In 2014, Phoenix Children’s Hospital launched a 22-bed pediatric unit inside the hospital. Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 and has been a vital part of the growing community. Assesses, delivers, and documents respiratory care to include pulmonary hygiene and airway management and performs diagnostic exams as necessary. Manages all patients on ventilators and related life support equipment. Performs routine blood gas analysis. Assesses, plans, and evaluates the patient plan of care utilizing multiple respiratory modalities, respiratory therapy driven protocols, and advanced ventilation techniques.
Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program
Certified Respiratory Therapist (RG RT)
BLS, ACLS required
NRP required (if working Nursery ICU)
PALS (as required by facility)
Registered Repiratory Therapist (RG RRT)
Required: AZ Respiratory Therapist License, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)* credential , American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS). Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)** credential, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Supports (PALS).
