Working hand-in-hand with the Sr. Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Shift Manager monitors all daily and weekly production activities to deliver production goals while maintaining a positive and motivating environment for all production employees in the assigned area and shift. The Manufacturing Shift Manager ensures that all tactical goals are met in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery. This role provides leadership to shift production employees and is expected to do so in accordance with CooperVision/Paragon policies and values.
Manages activities of the day to day production of finished goods and WIP including both: Lens production and labeling to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Monitors safety, quality and housekeeping to ensure compliance with established company standards and industry regulations.
Adheres to budget and cost control practices while meeting scheduled production expectations.
Provides day-to-day leadership and management to all shifts and adheres to the core values of the company.
Demonstrates proficiency at running any piece of equipment or process in assigned area and shift.
Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
Provides guidance, support, and coaching assistance as appropriate to all employees and interacts with support functions to maximize the assigned production areas’ effectiveness.
Understands and adheres to specified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WI), complying with FDA requirements and ISO standards.
Conduct all job duties with professionalism.
/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/
Computer systems knowledge – ERP Systems and Time Keeping Systems.
Working knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Office experience required.
An understanding of team building and working with people.
Attention to detail.
Knowledge and experience in manufacturing production is required (Production of medical devices is an advantage)

Work environment is in a manufacturing facility with moderate noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, and use the hands to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel.
Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision.
Our environment works 7 days per week, schedule depends on shift.
- Engineering or Operations Management BS degree or equivalent experience
3 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
Supervisory experience required.
