Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service for internal candidates (current Federal employees) and GS-06 grade level for external candidates (outside the Federal government) which includes performing and coordinating a variety of clerical and administrative support functions that includes at least three (3) of the following: (1) preparing correspondence, files maintenance, reproduction, preparation of recurring and special reports, and answering of the telephone. (2) utilizing a variety of office automation tools such as word processing to create documents and spreadsheets for information control, processing and display; (3) advise offices on applicable administrative methods and regulations, providing assistance with formats, coordination, proper signatory level; (4) preparing travel authorizations and vouchers using the Defense Travel System or like system; (5) arranging meetings, maintaining supervisor/office calendars, and logistical and automation support.
