Buena Vista Health & Recovery Centers Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Days in Chandler, Arizona

Position Summary

Buena Vista Health and Recovery Centers is a growing, state of the art healthcare recovery center with multiple locations. We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team of passionate healthcare professionals at our Chandler, AZ Campus.

The LPN will work as part of a team with physicians, RNs, other nurses and healthcare professionals to provide care, monitor health conditions, plan long-term care needs, administer medicine, use medical equipment, perform minor medical operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advise Patients and their families on illness, substance abuse treatment, care, and continued care after their stay.

  • Monitor health condition

  • Assist in planning patients long term needs

  • Administer medicine

  • Use medical equipment

  • Measure vital signs like blood pressure and temperature

  • Listen to patients regarding any health concerns they might have and report details to a Registered Nurse or Physician

Minimum Qualifications

  • State of Arizona LPN License

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Valid CPR, CPI, and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain immediately upon hire

  • Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

  • At least (1) year experience in substance abuse, behavioral health, medical or related field

  • Open minded, flexible, and willing to take direction.

  • Works well in crisis settings and have knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.

  • Knowledge of psychiatric conditions, recovery, and addiction treatment methodologies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to read and understand doctor’s orders and forms

  • Knowledge and understanding of status reports and their purpose

  • Ability to read and understand medical abbreviations

  • Knowledge of the 8 rights of medication administration

  • Must know how to read and document a medication log (MAR)

  • Knowledge of medication uses and side effects
