Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
The credit risk management team, supporting Small Business Lending (SBL), is seeking a highly motivated and talented risk professional to be a part of our loss forecasting team as a Consumer Credit Senior Associate. The business operates with an entrepreneurial spirit and is dedicated to operational excellence, team member development and redefining possibilities. This senior analyst position will be a team lead in the critical loss forecasting function, which directly impact tactical and strategic business decisions and regulatory compliance. To be effective in this position, you will need good understanding of business objectives, credit risk management, loss forecasting process, and rigorous control environment. You will have the opportunity to apply your superb analytical, problem solving, team work, and communication skills to a critical business function.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Key contributor in our business loss forecasting process and Stress Tests, with focus on the Practice Finance product.
Coordinate and run production controls and change management
Liaison with internal and external auditors
Continual process improvement
Effectively communicate loss forecast narrative, results and methodology to senior management
Analyzing portfolio trends and external factors to provide basis for management adjustment
Partnering with other functional areas such as Collections Operation and Finance
Actively obtain feedback from multiple functional areas including acquisitions, account management and collections to understand how these groups can impact our future losses
Review the impact of changing macroeconomic conditions and their impact on Small Business Lending losses
LOCATION: Candidate must be located in one of the listed site locations. Position is currently remote; however, candidate will be required to work on site when Wells Fargo returns to standard operating model.

- 5+ years of experience in risk role
A Master's degree or higher
Solid problem solving skills
Ability to research, trend, and analyze data
Good project management skills
Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
Knowledge and understanding of issues or change management processes
Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment
Ability to research and reconcile general ledger accounts
5+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Other Desired Qualifications
Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Operations Research
Knowledge of loss forecasting techniques.
Data governance & oversight (G&O) expertise or comparable experience
Knowledge of modeling and exploratory analytical techniques.
5+ Years prior experience in consumer or small business lending in an analytically-driven role.
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
NC-Charlotte: Min: $87,500 Mid: $125,000
TX-Irving: Min: $87,500 Mid: $125,000
AZ-Chandler: Min: $87,500 Mid: $125,000
